Originally from Salem, Oregon, cellist Sophie Paul is an avid chamber musician and advocate of new music. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and is currently based in Boston, where she is working towards her Master of Music degree at the Boston Conservatory under Professor Rhonda Rider. Sophie serves as the cellist of the Venus Quartet, Boston Conservatory’s Honors Chamber Ensemble, and has held fellowships with organizations including the Bach Institute at Emmanuel Music, Music from Salem Chamber Music Festival, and the Harvard Chamber Music Festival.
